Television, Recording for Charity and Heathrow

Jonathan is to appear on the Lorraine Show tomorrow (Friday) at 8.30am on the UK channel ITV1. I do hope the iPlayer makes it available for all of you overseas. It would seem he has pre-recorded his performance as the above photo is captioned ‘Jonathan Antoine leaving the Lorraine studios (in London)’.  It was taken this morning.

This afternoon he took part in a charity recording, at London’s famous Air Studios for Global’s Make Some Noise charity.

The photo shows him with Anna Berry (who produced his album) and Julian Reynolds (head of the Royal Academy in London), listening back to the charity single “Steadfast’ which will be completed later tonight and available on iTunes from midnight.

If you do use Twitter look under the hashtag #makesomenoise for further information.

Then, when we didn’t think we would hear any more from Jonathan (as he had tweeted he’d left home at 5.30am this morning), another tweet appeared a couple of hours ago.

At Heathrow airport xx

Where is he going?  Who knows?  The suspense is thrilling though!

More Perfect Pictures

This is another from the camera of our adopted ‘official photographer’ Bjarne Hemmingsen at the Chris Needs Charity Concert in Porthcawl a week past Saturday.

The lovely Debby Beal Lotte created the above.  Isn’t it great?

The end of Jonathan’s fantastic performance again from Bjarne.  He looks so very happy and of course every Fantoine present was too.  What an extraordinary night!

TENORE - The Full Track Listing

This past weekend Tenore’s full playlist became public knowledge as Jonathan’s PR issued a press release to the various music publications.

No longer was the track list a secret, although some Fantoines seemed to resist the urge to check it out on the various links given on Twitter and Facebook and wait for Jonathan’s daily announcements.

Here is the full listing. This CD is going to bring so much joy to so many.

2 Torna a Surriento

3 Nel blu, dipinto di blu (Volare)

4 Be my love

5 Parla Più Piano (from ‘The Godfather’)

The images on this post were taken from some posted by Jonathan on his Facebook page.  They are part of a selection taken while recording in the studio.

TENORE - Tracks 5 and 6

Track 5 is better known as the theme from the Godfather films (movies for those outside the UK).

I think when I first hear this CD I’d better be lying down in a darkened room!  It’s going to be breathtaking.

It’s Photo Shoot Day!

Via Twitter:

Photoshoot day! With the lovely Tara & Elizabeth, how lucky am I?!

I think Tara and Elizabeth are the lucky ones, don’t you?

The Secret’s Out!

For weeks now Fantoines have been begging Jonathan to disclose the title of his album and yesterday was the day.

Some wonderful artwork has appeared on Facebook.  The above video was posted on Jonathan’s page by Sue Winspear (not Sue Tiffin the brilliant photographer).

The above was posted by Lin Gee. Fantoines will now be thinking of sweatshirts or hoodies like this because it will certainly be colder on 13 October.

This one (above) was posted by Bea Gee.

Sue Tiffin’s contribution would make a superb album cover.  Wonderful, thanks Sue.

So many talented Fantoines have contributed and I’ll try to bring you more soon. Jonathan’s having a busy week so we’ll see why no doubt.

Have you worked out the album’s name yet? You’re right - it’s TENORE!!  Perfect. Simple. Honest.

The Joy of Achievement

A couple of days ago Jonathan posted the above photo showing his last day recording his solo CD which we are sure will reach dizzy heights and make him one of the most sought after tenors in the world.

Here’s his explanation:

On the last day of recording in the church - my Mum secretly recorded me singing my last song as she was behind me - I was rather exuberant and we, (Julian who you can see conducting me and I) had a great time! When you know the song list I wonder if you'll be able to guess which song I was singing here. It's hard to get out of your head once it's there!!Please feel free to pre-order  smarturl.it/JAntoine much love!
 xx

I’ve no idea what it could, do you?

Change of CD Release Date

Sony Masterworks has brought forward the release of Jonathan’s CD by two weeks making it the 13 October, 2014.

I do hope this won’t inconvenience any Fantoines who have made arrangements for a celebration.

You may like to put the new date in your diary.

I’ve amended the countdown clock over there. > >

Part Two of Last Night’s Performance

So well worth waiting for isn’t it?  It is most of the run-through prior to the audience arriving at the church.

It’s great to see Jonathan perform musical theatre/classical crossover but classical is where Jonathan, without doubt, surpasses all of his peers.

In recent months I’ve tried to be objective (so difficult) whilst comparing his few performances we have online with the ‘great tenors’ of today. Their ages range from 38 - 70+. There’s nobody younger than 38 or so who compares and only Domingo compares in my opinion.

Music is so personal isn’t it and we all have different ideas of what is perfection.  Makes for an interesting world!

Someone mentioned on Twitter that he’s far superior to Andrea Bocelli and - of course - I agree. Jonathan’s voice translates his inner emotion and understanding of the message he sings in a quality of tone that I’ve never before heard during my long lifetime. Bocelli shows far less emotion and lacks the quality of depth of tone.

Jings, I’m sounding like an armchair music critic, which I suppose I am.  Most of you will understand what I mean I hope though.

Enjoy!

Recording Completed!

Yesterday (Friday) Jonathan commented on his Facebook page that finally the voice recording for his solo CD is finished.

It seems to have been a wonderful experience for him and - going by the photos he’s posted - Sony have pulled out all the stops to ensure the CD will be first class. He deserves to work with quality professionals who obviously have recognised his unique talent and he’s been very gracious with his thanks to ‘the wonderful team’.  I’m sure they felt privileged to be part of his journey.

There’s so much excitement about the release of the album yet it is some months away.

Here’s another photograph he posted.  It’s taken inside the church in East Finchley where he recorded some tracks recently.  We all know he feels the heat quite a bit, so he was able to work barefoot both here in during studio recordings, the result is he’s been nicknamed ‘The Barefoot Tenor’.

The Recording Continues

As most followers of this astonishing young man will know, in the past few weeks he has been rehearsing or recording his first solo album (link to preorder at Amazon UK).

Yesterday’s Facebook post included the above image accompanied by the words:

I thought you may all like to see where I have been today and yesterday! Great acoustics hey?

Now many of us are wondering just what he was singing and lots of guessing has been going on in Facebook and also Twitter.  The consensus is that whatever the song is it will be perfect.  Of course he may be recording more than one in such a splendid setting and he may (or may not) be accompanied by the organ.

Isn’t it great to be part of Jonathan’s journey towards being the best tenor voice England has produced for generations?

Editor’s note: To those who want to know if he’s wearing shoes - I have it on good authority that in the photograph he’s without shoes but has kept his socks on!

Another Superb Graphic

The artistic ability of some Fantoines continues to amaze.  The above image was created by Lori Kolwyck-Kemp and she has given me permission to use it here.

As Lori is American she’s used an image of an American city. One day, I have no doubt, Jonathan’s picture will adorn the Carnegie Hall and many other world renowned concert venues.

The Inside Story

Aren’t we so lucky to have Jonathan’s Mum Tracy and sister Charlotte keep us informed about Jonathan’s activities?

The above photograph was posted on Twitter yesterday accompanied by the following tweet:

Sharing a photo with you all, so different from previous recordings and very exciting! :D

I’m assuming Tracy took the photograph because she tweeted this later:

Just updating you whilst Jonathan is preparing for the next recording session- some great sounds coming from the rehearsal room! :D Tracy.

As Fantoines we’re very privileged to be given such consideration by Jonathan and his family.  We all know how fortunate we are, don’t we?

Number One!

Amazon shows Jonathan at #No 1 in their Best Sellers list and also #No 1 in their Hot New Release list.

There’s no doubt at all that his debut solo CD is going to be a great success.  You can pre-order it here.

Those fans outside the UK may want to consider ordering through Amazon.co.uk as it may be some time before the album is available in the US, Canada or Australia.  It seems it’s not much more expensive to order this way and delivery is fast.  Check it out.
